The NYC Holiday Market Roundup

‘Tis the season to shop till you drop! NYC weather has taken a turn to the chilly side, but as we bundle up in coats and gloves, the holiday markets have begun to open to keep our spirits up. There’s a little something for everyone from indoor to outdoor venues, and options to shop, eat, or have a few drinks. We’ve rounded up our list of favorite holiday markets in NYC and what their opening & close dates are so you can plan your shopping schedule. Happy Holidays 🙂

1. Bryant Park Winter Village

The holiday market in Bryant Park opened on October 28th and will stay open until January 2nd. At the heart of this winter village is a 17,000 square foot ice-skating rink that offers free admission (but you will need to rent skates if you do not bring your own). There are over 170 kiosks in the park for both shopping and delicious bites. Near the rink, there is also an open-air lodge with food & festive cocktails. Learn More.

2. Union Square Holiday Market

The holiday market in Union Square opened up shop on November 17th and will remain open until Christmas Eve on the 24th. The market will showcase over 160 vendors featuring unique gifts created by local craftsmen, artists, and entrepreneurs. Don’t worry, you’ll also be able to find some tasty treats there, including a hot chocolate bar. Learn More.

3. Columbus Circle Holiday Market

The Holiday Market at Columbus Circle is set to open up on November 29th and will remain open through December 24th. Located at the South West entrance to Central Park, the pop-up market has over 100 vendors this year. This is also the only holiday market where you can find mulled wine. Select seating is available at the market so you can enjoy your treats without going too far. Learn More.

4. Brooklyn Borough Hall Holiday Market

A new holiday market is in town this year! Borough Hall Holiday Market opens on November 28th and will remain open after Christmas through December 26th. Located in Downtown Brooklyn, there are over 50 vendor shops set up for the season. Many of the shops are Brooklyn based artists selling one of a kind pieces. Learn More.

5. Hudson Yards

Not technically a holiday market – but it’s somewhere you will definitely want to stop at for some holiday shopping. The lights at the Hudson Yards mall launched on November 14th and has over 2 million shimmering white lights plus a 32-foot hot air balloon. For the holiday season, the mall also has complimentary photos with Santa and a gift wrap station. Learn More.

6. Oculus Holiday Market

The Holiday Market in the Oculus will open on November 25th and remain open through January 2nd. The market is open every day, located entirely indoors right in the middle of the Oculus building. There will be tons of holiday décor, shopping, and even performances including carolers. Learn More.

7. Grand Holiday Bazzar

Shop the Grand Bazaar Holiday Market on the Upper West Side. The market opens on November 27th and will remain open through December 18th. The hours are Sundays only from 10am – 5pm. There are over 200 hand-picked stands which will rotate every Sunday. Learn More.

8. Grand Central Holiday Market

Grand Central is home to the longest running indoor Holiday Fair in NYC. The market opened on November 14th and will remain open through Chrismas Eve on the 24th. Discover 26 local-artisan vendors in the beaux-arts Vanderbilt Hall. Vendors will sell a diverse mix of gift-able items, including men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, original artwork, jewelry, home décor, and more. Learn More.

9. Chelsea Market Holiday Pop-Up

The Holiday Market in Chelsea Market, Artists & Fleas, will open on December 2nd and remain open through December 19th. The Holiday Market is only open Thursday through Sunday so make sure to plan accordingly. Discover over 30 giftable shops from independent local artists. Learn More.

10. Fort Hamilton Holiday Market

A one-night only holiday market extravaganza! On December 9th, you can visit the Tree Lighting & Holiday Market Spectacular at the Fort Hamilton military base. The event will have holiday shops, food, music, and of course, Santa. Pair this day out with visiting the magnificent Dyker Heights Christmas lights just a short walk away (pictured above).
